It has come to the attention of Alameda Health System (AHS) that individuals are impersonating AHS Human Resources staff to offer fictitious job opportunities. These offers are often accompanied with a check to be cashed by the applicant or requests of personal information through an online form or application.

Please do not respond to these requests as they are not from AHS. Do not disclose your personal or financial details to the perpetrator. Do not send money. AHS will never ask you to send wire transfers or payments to secure a job.

How the scam works:

  • Fraudulent job opportunities are being posted on otherwise legitimate job boards including Chatwork and Facebook Business, among others.
  • Unsolicited e-mail communications are being sent where the individuals claim to be AHS with an attempt to solicit personal and/or financial information.
  • Scammers have used fake addresses such as “careers@alamedahealthsystem.net” and “jobs@alamedahealthsystem.net

Please Note: The only official e-mail address extension of AHS personnel is alamedahealthsystem.org. Web or e-mail extensions of “.net” or “.com” are not valid AHS platforms.

What to do if you’ve received such inquiries:

  • If you have received unsolicited e-mail communication from someone claiming to be AHS personnel:
  • To verify the authenticity of a job offer or validity of an AHS email communication
    e-mail careers@altezatlaxcala.com
  • File a complaint with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov and/or to the Federal Trade Commission at http://reportfraud.ftc.gov/.

Please know AHS is working diligently with both state and federal legal authorities to shut down the fraudulent scheme.
